The Dramatic Conclusion...
This Sunday will cap off our summer basketball season and will see us crown our first champion of the summer!
We had an action-packed night last week and are hoping its a strong finish to the season.
Here is this week's matchup:
At 6:30, we'll see 4 teams put the finishing touches on their season...
The Eagles will rue a tough loss in the season's final week that cost them a bracket spot, but they have shown incredible flashes for a free agent group and bring a great mix of handles, hops and range to the court.
LTG +3 has also shined in their debut campaign putting on a display of dramatic games. They had 2 one-point wins and very narrow losses as they found their stride and built on their strong team chemistry.
Nothing but Net had 2 close losses in the first week that gave them a mountain to climb, but they nearly pulled it off and put together some impressive efforts down the stretch as they leaned on a combination of depth, speed and size.
The Benchwarmers had 3 losses in the first 2 weeks by a combined 5 points...while definitely frustrating they put together strong efforts each week and gave each playoff team a scare during the season.
After those games at 6:30, we'll start our 3rd place game. This easily could have been the final as West is Best lost an OT-contest and Betts I Ever Had hung tough despite only having 5 players for the semis. Betts I Ever Had gave West is Best their only regular season blemish in a tight week 2 game so this sets up as a fun one all around!
When that ends, we will cap things off with the Banner Battle between Code Blue and Wildcats. Both teams come in on win streaks (6 for Code Blue, 7 for Wildcats), but different type of semi-final wins. Code Blue will be riding high after an OT-upset, while the Wildcats will feel they have something in the tank after needing a late run to pull away. The Wildcats won the regular season contest convincingly, but it will be a different game on Sunday with the longer periods. Can Code Blue keep their run going or will the Wildcats put the finishing touches on a strong one-loss season?
Good Luck to All!
